It was a starry starry night as Linda and Kelvin celebrated their tying of knot. It was also a first for us as photographers / videographers for a Peranakan bride! Linda was such a happy bride, her smile and laughters are contagious! Must be the power of love.
Till the next time!!
Yesterday before bed I was thinking of why some of us take pictures, or what is the motivation for us to take a certain kind of picture. And I realized that as we go through life different stages our motivation changes according to what affects us.
Looking back at the pictures I took along the 5 years I noticed how things have changed. Many of the previous shots are focused more on the wow factor, glamour, landscape, lights etc. I guess when we started out shooting we wanted to wow people. Those were really nice photos and it'll be a part of me I'm proud of.

Now recently as I go through the stage in my life where I'm tying the knot and being more matured and appreciative of the things and people around me, I noticed that I'm capturing more closed up pics of people's expression, and emotions and connections with one another. I guess I felt that I want to remember how happy people were at that moment. How young, or how they or their friends or family looked like at that point in time. And I realized being away since very young I did not have or care to keep many pictures or realized the importance of the memories in pictures. Once upon a time I took photos just because it's something I could do well in. but now I feel I'm so glad that as I am passing this milestone in life, I found the reason that makes photography so meaningful to me and my friends or couples.
and now as I read this note again I felt that I can understand what Peter Lindbergh feels when he pens down his thoughts...
"Creativity is the basis of self-expression. Why are some people supposedly more creative than others, and why can't others open themselves up enough to be able to express who they are?
Creation is the birth of something, and something cannot come from nothing. When someone creates something: a painting, a poem, a photograph, the creativity comes from an idea, from a feeling, from emotion, or from a combination of ideas, feelings and emotions that are somehow 'reborn' from all our experiences and perspectives.
Creativity is the desire to express ourselves. To formulate these expressions, we have to draw from our reservoir of experience, dreams, desires and experimentation and mix together what was, what is, and what could be... I don't think you can learn it, it is rather something that evolves. Your perception of everything in your life fills up this reservoir.
Some people are drawn to create and express themselves, others are drawn to reflect, to analyze. But in the end, they all could be creative if they had the desire to explore the way in which they are integrated in the world of their experiences. Because creativity is really a rebirth, a true tone we feel for ourselves and for our world. Then our work becomes a real part of who we are. Maybe all this is a question of how deep we are willing to go..."

Peter & Joy’s ROM @ Keppel Bay Country Club was an intimate and cosy affair between loved ones & friends.
i love this heartwarming moment between Joy and her sister after the ceremony.
this constantly reminds me that i am so blessed to be able to witness all this. it’s just damn amazing sometimes. a whole group of people coming together to celebrate love, joy & hope. isn’t that what we all need in our lives? a little more hope and sunshine. (:
